The Carlton is a family-run independent cinema, housed in a unique Grade II Listed Building in the heart of Westgate-on-Sea. The Cinema, now part of the Picturedrome Group, was originally built in 1911 as Westgate-on-Sea's Town Hall.
They screen an eclectic mix of current Hollywood blockbusters, great family movies, and some of the arthouse gems you may not see elsewhere.
Featuring 3 screens and air-conditioning throughout. Screen 1 - 297 seats with 25 luxury lounge seats, Screen 2 - 54 seats and Screen 3 - 32 seats
Tickets are £3.50 all week. Lounge seats, available in Screen 1, have a £1 extra charge.
Access Information
Both the entrance and the building itself are fully wheelchair accessible, and all on one level. Accessible toilets. Assistance Dogs permitted. Hearing Loop. Provisions for people with learning disabilities. Rest seats. Screens 1 & 2 have designated spaces for wheelchairs (Screen 3 does not.) The cinema welcomes the use of The Cinema Exhibitors' Association Card.
Weekly Subtitled Screenings. Supportive Environment Screenings, with no adverts or trailers. Lights stay on and sound is lowered, making the cinema experience a little easier and more enjoyable, for those with sensitive eyes and ears. Box Office Baby Screenings, specifically designed for parents and babies. The lights stay on and the sound is lowered. Under-2s go free.
Located conveniently close to Westgate-on-Sea Railway Station (3 minute's walk). A regular bus service stops outside the cinema: # 8 or 8A from Canterbury, Broadstairs and Margate.
