At Chartham Vineyard we have reached an exciting stage in combining our interests in wine and art.
A former cow shed in the farmyard has been renovated into a tasting room and gallery, together with adjoining workshop space for resident artists, or teaching space for classes on art and/or wine.
We have formed a very productive relationship with the Canterbury Society of Art who currently have an exhibition and sale of members’ work in the gallery. We have just hosted the 50th Anniversary of the Society with a lunch in our impressive Kent Barn, originally a threshing barn. It is our intention to use this building as an event space for art exhibitions and other social and cultural events. The Kent barn is one of a number of attractive 18th century buildings in the farmyard, including a rare dovecote which is featured in the Chartham vineyard logo.
The farmyard, cellar door and gallery are open every Saturday from 10.30 to 5.30. Visitors are very welcome to book tours (see website), enjoy free wine tasting and visit the gallery (free of charge). There is ample parking space.
