According to local historians, Beckett himself is said to have preached in this small Norman Wealden church.
In 1639, the tower had to be rebuilt after a devastating fire. Inside the church, the most striking feature of the Church is it's crown-post roof is striking and it's interesting fittings. Extensive Medieval wallpaintings cover most of the nave, depicting, amongst others, Cain and Abel and Christ’s entry into Jerusalem.
