This Historic Park includes Cobham Wood and the newly restored Darnley Mausoleum.
Absorb the atmosphere at the wonderfully restored Darnley Mausoleum, designed by James Wyatt and so memorably featured in the BBC's Restoration programme. Then follow in the footsteps of the Darnley family while walking through the peaceful woodland, once part of their extensive estate and soon to be acquired by the National Trust. Please note that the mausoleum is not currently open to the public.
The most direct route to the Woods and the mausoleum is by parking on Lodge Lane, at the eastern edge of Cobham village. From South Lodge it is about a mile on foot to the Mausoleum.
Public Footpaths criss-cross the Park landscape, and as part of the Heritage Project, access across the Park is becoming more integrated with the creation of new permissive routes and facilities that link into the existing Public Rights of Way network.
