The oldest vineyard in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Elham Valley Vineyard was established in 1985 but replanted in 2011 after years of decline. It now produces quality still and sparkling wines from Pinot Noir and Seyval grapes which are on sale on-site as well as by mail order via the website.
The vineyard is also home to a garden centre and café overlooking the vines and with a beautiful outside terrace, serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea – and its wines, of course! All of these social enterprises are run by The Fifth Trust charity to help fund its care services for adults with learning disabilities. Students attend the skills centre at the vineyard and gain valuable work and life experience serving customers and helping staff.
Visitors are welcome to walk through the vineyard and tours and wine tastings are available by appointment.
