A three day concert festival, created to offer a more intimate and accessible audience experience 30 August-1 September at the UK’s largest Tithe Barn, located in the picturesque village of Lenham, Kent. 3 days, 5 concerts, world class performers, classic cars, local refreshments, beautiful spaces... BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, Lance Ellington and his brilliant band will be opening the festival at 19.30 on Friday 30 August. Strictly Ellington will certainly be a swinging start to the weekend with songs by some of the world’s legends, sung by one of it’s greats.
Saturday 31 August sees the return of the ever popular Bach to Baby with music for the whole family at 11.00. All ages, 0-100, welcome. Saturday 31 August at 1930, Classy, Cosy and Classical. A magical evening of classical music in the round performed by the world's only one-handed concert pianist, and the Barbican Sinfonia.
Brunch and Jazz with Jay Rayner and his Sextet at 11.00 on Sunday 1 September. And back by popular demand, the wonderful Classic Car Meet will fill the grounds surrounding the barn over the course of the afternoon. A Night at the Musicals at 19.00 on Sunday 1 September! Steve Ridley, MD for many of London’s top shows including Anything Goes and this year’s Barbican spectacular ‘Kiss me Kate’, will direct an all star cast including award winning actor Michael D Xavier, the 4 time Laurence Olivier Award nominee, Emma Williams, and musicians from the bands of ‘Cabaret’, ‘My Neighbour Totoro’, ‘Matilda’ and more, through all your favourite West End hits.
Inspired by a desire to bring world class artists usually found on the big stage, into intimate and beautiful performance spaces; Green Room Concerts aims to welcome ticket holders into a unique series of ‘green room’ type settings. By limiting audience numbers and setting some concerts ‘in the round’, both audience and performer will be brought closer together for a more authentic and personal experience.
