St Mary's Church, Higham - English Tourism Week

As part of English Tourism week enjoy visiting St Mary's Church, Higham. The church is open to the public daily 9am - 5pm.

St Mary's Church sits remote from Higham village in fields on the edge of marshes that run to the Thames. It is an unusual church with great charm and eccentricity. It has beautiful stone and wood work filled with character and history. Originally Norman, it was remodelled and enlarged in the fourteenth century. It is a short journey from Gravesend - with a pleasant walk across the fields from Higham Station. There is also parking available by the entrance. The views and peaceful atmosphere are worth the journey.
