We've started off strong in this itinerary, with the iconic Canterbury Cathedral - which even if you just experience it from the grounds surrounding it, it's quite something. Inside, the staggering height of the nave and wonderous stainglass will capitvate you. Outside, the crypt head to the cloisters for the perfect view upward to Bell Harry Tower.

If you can tie in a trip to the home of Kentish cricket, do so. For a truly English experience, the Spitfire Ground sits just outside Canterbury and hosts 20-20 and full cricket games. If you're also a music fan, look out for concerts from the likes of Tom Jones and Michael Buble.

Cricket not your thing? No problem! Above Canterbury is the Gulbenkian Theatre and Cinema, which is the home of alternative and blockbuster cinema, and hilarious to thought provoking live performances.
