Folkestone is one of Kent's most exciting towns and this little overnight trip will be the best way to explore it - from the mesmirising artwork to its battle history.
-
Day 1 - Stop 1 - Folkestone Harbour Arm - AM to PM - 3 hours
We've put 3 hours time on this one, but you can spend far more than that here! For the early birds, start your day with a wander along the arm itself at sunrise, before joining the later rises when the stalls and food outlets open to taste local produce to market stalls on certaid days
-
Day 1 - Stop 2 - Battle of Britain Memorial Trust - PM - 2 hours
Pay your respects to those who fought over the English Channel and beyond during wartime Britain, as well as exploring the interactive exhibits including the Scramble Experience
-
Day 1 - Stop 3 - Hythe Imperial- PM - Overnight
Thankfully in Kent you have the choice to be either coastal or country and the Hythe Imperial fits the former, with exquisite rooms overlooking the English Channel
-
Day 2 - Stop 4 - Folkestone Artworks - AM to PM - 3 hours+
Start your day by ticking off 74 pieces of artwork by 46 artists, which makes Folkestone Artworks the largest urban art exhibition in the UK. Make it as long or short as your wish with guided tours around the area, stretching from the Leas to Sunny Sands.
