Day 2 - Stop 3 - Fort Amerherst - AM - 2 hours+
Built during Napoleonic times to defend Medway from a land-based attack, this strategically important site has a maze of underground tunnels; plenty of wonderful views across the area and bookable guided tours.

Day 2 - Stop 5 - Rochester Castle - PM - 1 hour+
Perhced just opposite the Cathedral is Rochester Castle, which dates from 1127. This castle is iconic of Rochester and its imposing fortress has a complex history of destruction and rebuilding - just take a wander around it and the cobbled streets nearby.
