Oh the weather outside is frightful…perfect for pirouetting on the ice, if you ask us. With ice rinks popping up in towns across Kent, it’s time to lace up your skates and turn up the Bolero.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a figure skating star, or an ice skating newbie (Bambi was still a star, after all), these top spots for ice skating in Kent are the perfect way to start sliding into that Christmas spirit, mulled wine in hand. Better yet, we’re getting into full Winter Olympic mode with curling rinks too, so you can practice your brushing for 2026.

Tunbridge Wells
Calverley Grounds is getting a frosty makeover this winter, with not one but two ice rinks returning to the town. The large main rink is the perfect spot for practicing your skating moves, while the smaller rink doubles as a spot for little ones to practice their moves by day, and adults to practice their curling at the Bavarian style rink come evening. More a spectator than a skater? Food stalls, live music and DJs will all be there to add that touch of sparkle to your evening.

Bluewater’s ice rink is back this winter! Set just outside of The Village, this sparkling gem is the perfect spot to relax and show off your skills after a full day of Christmas shopping. With toddler sessions, and penguin and seal skating aids on hand for families, and party nights with classic anthems for those looking to take things up a notch, it’s the perfect pre-Christmas treat, whatever your age or skill. Plus, with a clear roof up above, come rain or shine, you can skate in style.

Planet Ice Gillingham
We couldn’t create this list and not include local favourite, Planet Ice! With year-round ice skating sessions and lessons, it’s the top spot for ice skating, but what we’re really excited about this season is A Christmas Carol on Ice! Watch as the Show & Skate class of amateur skaters and professional on tour cast come together to tell the classic tale of Ebeneezer Scrooge on his journey to discovering the true meaning of Christmas.
