Summer has arrived and so has a load of new traders down at Folkestone Harbour Arm! So just in case you haven’t heard all about it over on their Instagram, we’re here to give you a little round-up on all the new businesses that have joined the Folkestone Harbour Arm family. And, we thought it’s only right we tell you about how you can make a day of it, as there’s loads to explore. Tee off with Putters! Adventure Golf or join in on cheering the Lionesses to victory in the Women’s World Cup, which you can catch on The Harbour Screen. Trust us, once you arrive, you won’t want to leave!
Brewing Brothers Beachside
Kicking things off with Brewing Brothers Beachside - a brand-new taproom space which is now the largest single independent business to operate on the Harbour Arm! Making up seven extra-large shipping containers and with an impressive outdoor deck, your summer dining experience starts right here, because who doesn’t love a little alfresco dining, especially when your food is cooked from a wood fired oven. We’ll see you there!
Portenio
Portenio serves up delicious, authentic, Argentine cuisine, including steak, sausage, fish and so much more! With outdoor seating, the food isn’t the only thing you’ll enjoy here, as you’ll be surrounded by the breath-taking views of the sea. So when the sun comes out to say hello, Portenio makes for the perfect stop on the Harbour Arm to relax, indulge in your Argentine dish and watch the world go by. Time to indulge!
Sail Box
Bought to you by the team behind the popular Harbour Coffee Co, Sail Box is another new trader which has opened its doors at Folkestone Harbour Arm this summer. A menu that whets the appetite of you brunch enthusiasts, with their breakfast, brunch & beyond menu which includes anything from your eggs royal and avocado on toast to banana pancakes and French toast. Whilst brunching by the sea at Sail Box sounds just like the place to be on a summers day down at Folkestone, soon you’ll be there to experience more than a brunch, because the menu will be expanding to include seaside pub classics and, when the seasons change, roasts will be on the menu! Brunch away
The Saffa Bru
Step onto the Harbour Arm and who’d have thought we’d end up in South Africa? Over at The Saffa Bru, it’ll feel like just that with their inventive and colourful menu (which is reflected in the stunning artwork of the restaurant) that brings everything you can expect to find from a good old South African Braai. To fill you in on the term, that means BBQ to us, so don’t all rush at once… we know how us Brits can get when we hear the word BBQ. So, head for a Braai with The Saffa Bru and although the vibes and atmosphere of this place will make you feel like you’re living it up in South Africa, you can’t quite beat the scenic views of the Kent coast, especially down at Folkestone Harbour Arm. It’s Braai night
Let's Amore
The latest café to arrive at Folkestone Harbour, Let’s Amore, situated in The Signal Box and serving up authentic Italian snacks including, arancini, pizza frittas and focaccia sandwiches. We can just picture it… a hot day in Folkestone, cooled down by the sea breeze and filling up on delicious Italian nibbles, washed down with an Aperol spritz, prosecco or a refreshing juice. If you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth and are a sucker for a good slice of cake (who isn’t?!) then it’s a good thing Let’s Amore have you covered there too. With a cake in one hand, and a coffee in the other, you can’t really go wrong because coffee + cake = the perfect combo. Deliziosa
Le Coq Rotisserie
Another addition to Folkestone Harbour is Le Coq Rotisserie, bringing chicken to the coast with their mouth-watering, slow cooked, juicy, rotisserie chicken. With tangy dips and delicious sides, as well desserts and a fresh deli counter, over at Le Coq you can visit for a quick snack, a peaceful rest and recharge out the front (with a view of course!) or for a quality dining experience. It's time for chicken
The Harbour Screen
We’ve explored all the new traders that line the harbour with their unique style of cuisine (we’re sorry if your stomachs are now rumbling) so, we’re heading over to The Goods Yard, home to The Harbour Screen to find out what’s on for the summer. And before we even begin to tell you about what films are on, the Women’s World Cup will be bringing all the entertainment and excitement to the big screen as we cheer the Lionesses on to victory! You’ll also find more sporting events as the premier league kicks off in August as well as the Rugby Union Summer International. For those of you who aren’t hooked on the sporting events, you’ll be pleased to hear some of your favourite films will be showcased including, Top Gun: Maverick, Grease, and Romeo & Juliette – what’s more, all the screenings are free! Kick your feet up
Putters! Adventure Golf
We know you’ve just come from foodie heaven, so we won't blame you if you just need a few minutes of rest to let all that food digest. Or, it might be a good idea to head here before you start your food crawl along the Harbour Arm. But either way, Putters! Adventure Golf is calling your name and with a 12-hole course in eye-line of the panoramic views across the coast, it’s definitely something you need to do when visiting Folkestone. Whether you’re a family with little ones, a couple looking for a fun date idea, or a group of friends looking to find the competitive one of the group, mini golf is an enjoyable activity for all and Putters is ready to welcome you! Tee off with Putters!
The Lighthouse Champagne Bar
Wander down to the end of the Harbour Arm and you’ll come to find Folkestone’s renovated and still-functioning lighthouse, known as The Lighthouse Champagne Bar. Sit back and soak in the views whilst sipping on your choice of fine English Sparkling Wine and Champagne. Accompany your drink with a light lunch, or tuck into a sharing platter, including cheese, charcuterie, mixed and vegan options available. It's wine o'clock down at the harbour
