We have a range of the best summer date places whether it’s a brewery, food village, museum and more all at a good value!

Macknade

This is definitely my type of date… sitting back and relaxing at Macknade’s food village with free live music playing from 6pm every Friday in July and August. Don’t forget to take a look at the huge selection of street food dishes from the resident traders all producing top quality food to enjoy with your other half! So what are you waiting for crack open a bottle of wine from one of the wine stores and drink outside in the marvellous weather!

Curious Brewery

Beer and food has always sounded good but throw in a summer date on top of this and that sounds like a perfect evening out especially if it’s at a good value too! Curious Brewery don’t only just brew their own amazing beer but… they also have a bar and dining area where you can enjoy a sharing board with your date, ranging from £16-£18. The food is filled with locally sourced and sustainable ingredients and if you ask the bar tender I’m sure you can find the perfect beer pairing to go alongside your meal.

Turner Contemporary Exhibition

Are you looking for a date idea that is different to normal? From 27th May to 10th September 2023, Turner Contemporary is hosting a free event to showcase Beatriz Milhazes: Maresias who is widely recognised as one of the leading abstract artists working today.

After exploring the art work at The Turner Contemporary why not grab some fish and chips and carry on your date watching the sunset on the beach whilst enjoying the company and the views that once inspired J.M.W Turner himself?

Powell-Cotton Museum

This date night idea will definitely win you those brownie points… Returning once again by popular demand for just £12 per adult, is Powell-Cottom Museum’s open-air cinema set up in the beautiful Quex Gardens, offering the chance to enjoy watching a movie under the stars.

Set the romantic scene for this one and bring your own picnic blankets or camping chairs or treat your date and for an extra £8, upgrade to the VIP package which includes a comfy deckchair and a box of tasty, sweet popcorn! Buy your tickets here.

Corkk

New to Canterbury town is Corkk, bringing the best wines from across England including a few from Kent’s very own vineyards. Enjoy the immersive wine experience for your summer date night with their new enomatic machines allowing you both to taste several samples each with a £10 card or choose from the three different size options available.

Biddenden Vineyards

Immerse yourself amongst the vines this summer… from May to September at £10 per person, Biddenden are offering self-guided tours around the vineyard, including a tasting flight of three of their wines. What better way to celebrate the sun than with a glass of wine in your hand with your date! Why not upgrade for an additional £5 per person giving you an opportunity to taste six of Biddenden’s fabulous wines.

With two routes available to choose from this will definitely be an enjoyable date idea. Follow the red route which will take you around 40 minutes to complete and includes several way-points where you can stop and find out more about the grape varieties. Or, if you are too eager to try the products then take the 20 minute yellow route which is a short walk.

Spa Valley Railway

Here is one just a little over the budget at £15 per person but we couldn’t not add this amazing experience to the list as this would make an amazing date idea for those who like to relax whilst on the move! Hop on board the Real Ale Train and enjoy a pint whilst travelling through the stunning High Weald countryside. Drink ale from local breweries and cideries most from around Kent and experience the on-board experience for two and a half hours long.
