Glass Fusing Taster Experience.
Learn some of the secrets of warm glass on Creative Holidays and Retreats glass fusing taster experience. Start the day with a warm, fresh pastry and a hot drink (or cold soft drink) and take a look at what happens to glass in the kiln as it heats to over 800C. Then venture upstairs into their purpose-designed glass art teaching studio. Here you’ll hone your glass cutting skills and then put them to work to create your own choice of fused glass art to take home. You could make a set of coasters, a fruit bowl, a glass picture to frame, some hanging decorations. Included in the cost of the experience is enough glass to make something 20 x 20cm from coloured Bullseye glass as well as float glass for your first (practise) creation.
Copper foiled stained glass experience.
Master the art of “Tiffany” copper foiled stained glass with a two day copper foiled stained glass experience. After a welcoming drink and a warm pastry, you'll be taught how to cut and shape glass with confidence. Then, be shown how to create your own cartoon (template) for your stained glass panel, which can be up to A4 size and contain up to ten pieces of glass. Over the course of the two days you’ll cut each of the pieces of glass to fit together accurately, before applying self adhesive copper foil around the edge of each piece. This step is especially relaxing once you get the hang of it! You’ll then solder your pieces together to create your finished design. You can add hanging loops and chain if you choose, as a finishing touch, before taking your finished panel home with you at the end of the course.
